Why I Do What I Do

Hi, I’m Chris Bradbrook, a Celebrant who believes that every ceremony should feel personal, heartfelt, and truly reflective of the people at its centre. My journey to this work has been shaped by love, loss, and a lifetime spent supporting others. I’ve experienced marriage and divorce, which has given me a deep appreciation for the highs, lows, and profound meaning behind the commitments we make and the paths we take in life.

Throughout my career, I’ve always worked with people – as a teacher of young adults with special educational needs and disabilities, a foster carer, and of course one of my greatest joys, a mum. My two French Bulldogs are family too and make my home a home.

Losing my mum was a real turning point and although we honoured her wish for a traditional ceremony, I realised that it didn’t help me process my own grief. That experience taught me how essential it is for a ceremony to hold space not only for the wishes of the person we are honouring, but also for the emotions, needs, and healing of those who remain. It’s this empathy that now sits at the heart of everything I do, the reason I became a Celebrant. I have walked your path.

My Approach

As your Celebrant, I’m here to help you create a ceremony that feels warm, inclusive, and completely your own. If you’d like more support, I can also be your Wedding Planner, and Master of Ceremonies, walking with you and holding your hand through the whole journey. I am calm, organised, and here for you from the very beginning to the very end, making sure your day is exactly how you want it. Originally from Halifax, I cover the whole of Yorkshire, but also happy to travel further afield for your perfect location. At the heart of my work is listening and I will take the time to get to know you, your wishes, and the stories that matter most. From there, I shape a ceremony that feels just right, whether that’s warm and joyful, quiet and reflective, or uplifting and celebratory. I write every ceremony from scratch so it reflects your personality, values, and beliefs. On the day itself, you can count on me to hold the space with warmth, reassurance, and calm professionalism.
